Exploring "Frame-by-Frame" at Light in the Dark

A video I made for our "Light in the Dark: A Mechanical and Metaphoric Explortaion of the Camera" installation at Automata in Chinatown on Saturday, June 27th

This piece explores the role of the frame in film/video, photography and animation in a whimsical context.  It also displays the versatility of camera-forms in a modern, tech-savvy world, where content can be comparatively used to achieve instant gratification (i.e. sharing via phone apps on the internet) and as more long-form creative work.

Here you see content that was originally captured with a digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR) as photography and video, then edited in a computer via FinalCut, re-captured with an iPhone and posted to Instagram, then re-constructed in AfterEffects and burned to a DVD to be projected on a large-scale in this space.
