Buster Keaton

My favorite Buster Keaton performance, called "One Week." Great, great slapstick!  And pretty interesting in terms of engineering as well.

Stomp

Just re-discovered my absolute favorite scene from the off-broadway show "Stomp!"  It is phenomenal, and pretty much the inspiration for my first performance art piece at CalArts.

Tom Cruise Scientology

The finale of an object performance on the Scientology Creation Myth.
It had the lawls.

Noir

chiaroscuro, backlit--
who's there?  me, you, us, them,
sirens.  instantly.
black like my mind after a Bogie punch.
waking up, cast, covered, uncovered.
read my voice, don't look into my eyes--
too cool for you--they'd reveal my secrets.
but now I see that you're angry.
you bear your soul for but a moment of rage
and then
kiss me.
but i don't mind. it's all part of the plan.
we seduce each other for our own benefit,
never knowing who's will play out or
live the longest, if at all.
i'm an alto, unless i'm lying, but
i'll sing for you if you give me what i want.
i'll promise.  or,
i'll swoon.

Pope Marionette

Old footage from my fabric marionette "Pope."  A religious figure genuflects before entering a pue to pray.  After praying, he has a heart attack and faints.  Once he comes to, he stands and raises his arms in praise for his saved life.  In the end the marionette control becomes a Catholic cross held in his hand.  It was quite funny to perform.  Please try to ignore the beautiful surroundings of the beautiful drawing classroom.

In the Mood

Just found this.  It's practice footage from my first object theater performance from my senior year at Pratt.  Two shoe inserts dancing to "In the Mood" from the Glenn Miller Band.  Catch the time step near the end! :D

Whimsy

The exhibit opens TODAY!
It is a green building so the majority of the gallery is lit by natural light through large windows.  Pretty cool!  These are less than ideal phone pics but the show looked really nice!

Remember the opening is September 10th 5:30-7:30 at the Gallery at 14 Maple (14 Maple Ave) in Morristown, NJ and it's open to the public, if you're interested.
